Warwick Chiropractic on the Benefits of Probiotics

by | Jun 22, 2018 | General News

Warwick Chiropractic wants you to know that probiotics have many “pros.” They are beneficial to those who have gut complications like IBS, constipation, enteritis, and more. They can also help decrease allergic inflammation, treat nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and fight immune deficiency problems. Calcium absorption and bone calcium that treats osteoporosis can come from taking probiotics in women after menopause. Diabetes and obesity may even be positively affected. In a previous article on probiotics, we looked at other benefits. Here we continue that thought.

The list of foods and liquids rich and probiotics goes on and on. Asparagus, artichoke, bamboo shoots, banana, barley, chicory, leeks, garlic, honey, lentils, milk, mustards, onion, rye, soybean, sugar beets, sugarcane juice, tomato, wheat kefir, kimchi, yogurt, sweet acidophilus milk, miso, tempeh, sauerkraut, aged soft cheese, and more.

In some probiotics is a prebiotic. A prebiotic is basically a food for the probiotic and the good bacteria inside of the gut. It is a carb that is non digestible. It helps all of the good bacteria grow and in turn helps the probiotic to last longer and work more efficiently.

Warwick is going to give you the different kinds of probiotics

1.  Lactobacillus are in our digestive, urinary, and genital systems. They treat many different diseases and conditions.
2.  Bifidobacteria are most of the time in the colon. They help improve blood lipids and glucose tolerance and can help to rid of IBS, pain, bloating, and urgency.
3.  Saccaromyces boulardii is a yeast probiotic; more specifically, the only one. It’s used to treat C-Dif, traveler’s diarrhea, acne, and even more.
4.  Streptococcus thermophilus aids to decrease the likely hood of lactose intolerance.
5.  Enterococcus faecium helps your intestinal tract.

Warwick does want to tell you that there can be side effects of probiotics, although not serious. They usually consist of feeling bloated or having gas. Nothing serious, mainly only mild digestive issues.
